Grateful to my late wife's last words, rambling in Victoria Park at night on the Mother's Day
A hill may not be tall;
With sprites, it's known to all.
A pool may not be deep;
It's live where dragons leap.
The verse of Yellow Crane
Survives the vast domain.
Pangu made Earth of yore;
Nyuwa fixed Sky with ore.
Although Vic Park is small,
Its charm does one enthrall.
Its micro-macro view
Includes all, me and you.
The East Hill does blow worth
That fills heaven and earth.
The dew lit by the sun
Shines what on land does run.
O'er flora and fauna
Birds cheep through aroma.

作家的辛酸
臨近書展，本地作家推出一本作品背後的心酸有誰知？誠如中文大學學者蔡子強曾在專欄文章以「一眶眼淚，十分坎坷」形容本地作家的生計，「條數十分易計，一本書當賣九十元，如果能賣兩千本，算是頗為理想，以百分之七版稅計，即一萬三千元左右，謹比大學畢業生的平均月起薪點好一些。但寫一本書等閒花你幾月時間，又豈是月薪可比。就算你是「快槍手」，一年可以寫上三、四本書，每本都有幾千冊銷路，但每個月仍未必能達一萬元收人，要靠此維生，實屬天方夜譚。所以香港很多作家都是兼職性質，要靠其他收人補貼。」
蔡子強表示，另一可行做法，是先在報章雜誌寫稿，從而儲稿，等儲到一定數量之後再結集成書；又或再進一步整理、擴展成書，「這才是立志全職寫作者較普遍的出路。」
他進一步解釋，如今在報章雜誌寫專欄，一篇五百字，拿三百元稿費不難；如果一千字的，便可有五百元稿費。「一本書以八萬字計，如只是出書，正如前述，可能只為你帶來一萬多元的收入；但若然同樣的寫作量以寫專欄計，卻可帶來近四萬元的收入，且較有名氣的專欄作家，更遠遠不止此數。於是以寫專欄來養書，是現時極為普遍的做法。」
惟蔡子強道，只可惜，受到新媒體和讀者新閱讀習慣的衝擊，無論報章雜誌都在式微；曾幾何時是「雜誌一哥」的周刊，也難逃萎縮甚至是倒閉的命運。「要是一天沒有了紙媒，而新媒體又不習慣給稿費，立志全職寫作者，生計只會更加艱難，作家的空間只會更加狹窄。但問題是，我們又如何可敵得住時代的巨輪呢﹖」
生輝堂口述回憶錄：
本擬註冊再版《琉璃廠史畫》《藝海拾珍（加編）》《香港保利拍賣行出版生輝堂珍藏（加編）》附屬口述回憶等刊物，因鑑近年書展，每況愈下，遂放棄原計劃，繼續免費贈送海內外各圖書館供閱者笑談。以畫會友，廣納伯樂！指教！指教！
